On Tuesday, short selling sent SHFE 1611 aluminum down to RMB 11,850/mt after opening at RMB 11,940/mt. The most active contract then rebounded on short covering, ending at RMB 11,995/mt. Trading volumes were down 49,160 lots to 172,430 lots, and positions were up 17,228 to 242,198. The most active contract will struggle around RMB 12,000/mt during the night session.
